Nexus Interiors Australia supplied and installed custom acoustic solutions for Viewbank College, featuring a striking Indigenous collaboration acoustic feature wall. This project focused on integrating specialized sound-absorbing wall panels to enhance acoustic performance, manage reverberation, and create an inspiring, culturally rich learning environment.
Scope
Nexus Interiors provided end-to-end project coordination, precision measurement, supply, and expert installation of bespoke acoustic wall panels. Designed in collaboration with First Nations artwork, the wall panels seamlessly combine aesthetic cultural representation with high-performance sound treatment.
Challenge & Solution
Fitting full-scale decorative acoustic panels around existing infrastructure, including wall mounted split-system air conditioning units, conduit piping, and electrical outlets, required meticulous detailing and custom cutting on-site. Through precise coordination and skilled craftsmanship, Nexus delivered a seamless finish that accommodates all building utilities while maintaining the continuous flow and visual impact of the Indigenous artwork.
Final Outcome
The installed acoustic feature wall transforms the space into a vibrant and acoustically comfortable hub for staff and students. By significantly reducing sound bounce and background noise, the wall improves speech clarity while acting as an engaging cultural focal point that celebrates Indigenous design.
